Training Sessions
At Team Anstey, we have a variety of training sessions to suit all needs and abilities so you will find someone to run with you at your pace, starting from walking, usually with members returning from injury, upwards.
In order to get started new runners can have a months free trial before deciding on whether or not to join the club. Tuesday training we usually have two groups starting at 6:30pm which are a 20 minute out and back or pacing and hill groups. These can change depending on what Run Leaders we have available. Thursday training is a 30 minute out and back run, or planned running activities around the village, for example a compass run where we meet at a crossroad and run in the direction of compass points and back. Again the start time is 6:30pm. Training always starts with a 5-10 minute dynamic warm up in order to help avoid injuries during training. At the end of every session there will be the opportunity for a variety of stretches, led by one of the Run Leaders. Although we can't guarantee that you won't feel sore the next day, by starting and finishing your training session with a good warm up and cool down you'll be in the best shape going forward. We also want to ensure safety for everyone so recommend the appropriate clothing and footwear for the conditions. The winter brings the dark nights with it, so remember to dress bright in high-vis and remember those head torches! We also encourage leaving the earphones at home - cars can hurt! If you have not joined yet but want to try us out then please request to join our Team Anstey Amblers and Runners Facebook group page where all our training sessions are posted along with who will be the run leaders for the session. |
